The first ordinary session of the African Union’s Specialized Technical Committee (CTS), on transport, transcontinental and interregional infrastructures, energy and tourism which began on 13 March ended on Friday 17 March 2017 in Lomé Togo. The Ministerial segment was opened by Togolese Prime Minister Mr. Komi Sélom KLASSOU. As the host country of this meeting, Togo was elected to head The Specialized Technical Committee for the coming 2 years.
This ministerial segement attended by Ministers responsible for transport, energy and tourism appraised and evaluated work done by the experts and adopted some decisions. Some of the adopted decisions were on infrastructure financing and alternative to public private partnerships.
The Ministers also gave priority to the energy sector for which they called for formultaion of a comprehensive regional actions and policies in order to stimulate economic development in the region.
